Beltronics and Escort Are the Same Company

If you've ever seriously searched for top end radar detectors, you've probably discover both Beltronics and Escort, but are you aware that they are actually the identical company? That's right, many years back, Escort actually acquired Beltronics, and also since then your two companies are sharing technologies across both brands.

A number of the features present on both brands are auto muting of alerts, radar signal frequency display, voice alerts, auto scan modes to lower false alerts, and volt meters. Usually the Beltronics radar detectors are cheaper because they are missing 1 or 2 of your key features which the Escort designs have. Plenty of times, the Beltronics models really are a better deal, but be careful you look at the feature sets because the feature you are searching for might only be available in the Escort units.

As the Escort and Beltronics radar detector models are similar, there are several key differences that we'd like to indicate. We recommend products from both brands, nevertheless the features differ slightly between brands, which means you must make sure you will get exactly what you wish.

Starting at the top of the line, the Beltronics STi Driver and the Escort Directory are exceedingly similar. Both are built on the same good performance radar detection platform, and differ only slightly with features. The STi Driver includes a male voice, as the Redline provides a female voice. Our preference is overwhelmingly for your Redline's female voice. It is actually much clearer and even more pleasant. Around the display side, the STi Driver has Threat Display as the Redline has the Expert Meter. These two modes assist you to see multiple radar signals on-screen at one time plus the signal strength for each signal, the STi Driver are only able to display one threat from each band even though the Redline can display 4 X-band, 2 K-band and 2 Ka-band signals all at one time. The detection range on these units is incredibly similar plus the STi Driver can be obtained a little bit cheaper, so if that's your only requirement, we'd pick the STi Driver.

The Beltronics GX65 as well as the Escort Passport 9500ix are very similar GPS radar detectors. Both these devices let you lock out signals based on location and signal frequency, although the Passport will automatically lock out signals it detects although the GX65 will require manual signal lockout. Other than that, these models are simply the exact same, when you don't mind locking the alerts yourself, you should select the GX65, it's an excellent detector.

Overall, the product or service lines from Escort and Beltronics are great performers and will certainly last well. If you are searching for the most advanced, feature packed units, look for Escort, but should you be looking for the deal, and are willing to forgo a few features, check out the Beltronics series of products.
