Textile Testing Methods - A Wet Processing Industry Requirement

An obvious understanding of quality parameters, the terminologies used in textile testing equipments manufacturers and passing a selected material, are very crucial and necessary for every textile dyer, exporter and manufacturer.

The Textile processor should know about the parameters of buyer's requirements in quantitative terms and only he then usually takes necessary measures to attain that standard. Textile processing is often a vast ocean employing so many processes, chemicals, machinery and men.

A definite cut policy on Quality Assurance and Qc certainly are a must for virtually any good wet processing industry. From the comfort of fiber to finished goods there are numerous inputs and outputs. An organized qc procedure is essential to eradicate final quality problems of dyeing and finishing.

Such as the cotton fiber test - for it maturity, staple length, color, moisture content etc determines what quality of final yarn and thereafter the pad, the unit is planning to produce. The physical tests for example TPI, Tensile strength, CSP etc. and EPI and PPI foretell the caliber of yarn and fabric respectively.

The last quality of finished products could possibly be assured if proper quality control measures are adopted in testing the incoming dyestuff and chemicals regularly. The process to do these tests is though not really a complicated, an appropriate guidance is critical.

Textile fabric or yarn prior to going for the following phase of processing, eg., garmenting or weaving/knitting, has to be tested for that required quality standards stipulated from the buyer. The tests like wash fastness, rubbing fastness, anti-staining properties, fireproof, water repellent etc must be conducted in the in-house laboratory along with a prior assessment ought to be made before sending the merchandise for Third party testing.
